Designed to flow
Japanese tattoo work, irezumi, uses traditional subjects such as waves, cherry blossoms, koi, peonies and dragons, with bold outlines and backgrounds of wind, water or clouds. Large pieces are planned around the body: a sleeve, a back piece, a design that wraps the thigh.
The designs here are single motifs inspired by the style, a good way to test a subject before planning a larger piece with an artist who specializes in it.
Previewing it honestly
Use Wrap on limbs so waves and branches follow the arm or leg. The color designs keep their colors with Ink on Original; switch to Black to see the same motif as a black and grey piece.
