Small and close to the bone
The ankle suits small designs: a single symbol on the inner or outer ankle, a line wrapping just above it, or a piece on the lower calf. The skin is thin over the bone, and shoes and socks rub it, so designs here can fade sooner than on the calf.
On darker skin tones, fine and colored ink shows less than black outlines. The sample photo shows this: the bolder the design, the more it stands out.
Fitting it in the editor
Photograph the ankle from the side, standing. Ankle designs open in Wrap. Check where your shoes cut across the ankle, and use Erase to see the design partly hidden by a sock or strap.
