Before you commit to a hand
Hand tattoos are on show every day, in every handshake and photo, and many studios ask that it isn't your first. The skin on the back of the hand is thin and moves with every finger, and hands are washed and in the sun constantly, so lines spread and fade sooner than on the arm.
Bold designs with clear outlines hold up best here. Very fine work on the knuckles and fingers is often gone within a few years.
Fitting it in the editor
Photograph your hand flat and relaxed, as in the sample. Designs open in Wrap; for the back of the hand a low Wrap strength is enough. Use Erase if a ring or watch should sit over the design.
